ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET.

CHRISTCHURCH, July 9. At Addiiigton to-day tiie yardings ol: stock, except dairy cattle, were very small, and prices showed a sharp rise in fat sheep and . lambs and vealera. The shortage was clue partly _ to curtailment of the railway service and partly to the scarcity, of fat sheep a.nd lambs. The increase in prices was not only due to shortness of supplies, but to its being the last week for purchasing for the freezing works., which are now about to close down. Fat lambs soM at a rate of about 10d per Ib over, all, and fat sheep advanced about 5s per head on the previous week's rates. Fat cattle were iirmer and vealers sold exceptionally well. Store cattle were a small and poor lot. There'was a moderate demand for pigs. Store sheep sold at about late rates.

Store Sheep—2-tooth ewes 35s 9d, 4, 6 and 8-tooth ewes 22s 3d to 245, sound and failing mouth ewes ll's Id to 18s 7d, ewe hoggets 235, wether hoggets 20s, 2-tooth' wethers 25s lid, 4 and 6-tooth 245, mixed sex hoggets 20s t0.165.-7d.

Fat Lambs.—Extra prime to 395, prime 30s to 355, medium 26s to 29s 6d, lighter 19s to 255, 6<L Fat Sheep.—Extra prime wethers to: 57s 6d, prime 45s to 535, medium 33s to 44s 6d; extra prime ewes 52s 3d, prime 40s to 455, medium 30s to 39s 6d. lighter 20s 6d to 29s 6d. *

Fat Cattle.—Extra prime steers to £25, prime £18 to £20, ordinary £11 17s 6d to £17 15s; prime heifers £11 15s to £14 12s 6d, ordinary £9 7s 6d to £11 10s; prime cows £11 7s 6d to £16, ordinary £10 15s to £11 2s 6d; dairy cows £10 to £18; vealers and runners £5 to £7 2s 6d, good vealers £3 4s to £4, fair 33s to £2 15s, small 6s to 20s.

Pigs—Bacbners equal* to-83d per lb, porkers• equal to 9d to lOd per lb; medium stores 33s to £2 2s, small 22s to 28s, weaners 16s to 18s.
