RUGBY UNION.

The monthly meeting of the Ashburton Rugby Union was held last evening, Mr F. H. Robilliard presiding. A letter was received from the South Canterbury Rugby Union, asking for a senior match to be arranged at Timaru on July 31.—1t was decided to inform Timaru that it would be preferable to hold the match when the compeitions had closed towards the end of August.

The secretary was instructed to write the Fairfield Club, thanking it for a donation towards the Accident Fund. The following matches were arranged for this week-.—Seniors, Ashburton v. Springburn at Ashburton (Mr W. Page); 'Methven v. Old Boys, at Mcthven (Mr Friedlandcr) ; Rakaia v. Southern Cross, at Rakaia (Mr F. Pntchard). Juniors: Old Boys v.
