Tlio Chortsoy Hall \v.ib full on Friday, night on Uie oceiision of 11 welcome homo to four Chortsoy boys— Privates W. McKeo, A. Cook, W. Copeland. and J. Foley. Unfortunately tlie ln«t-iiamod was unable to be present. Mr H. Gill made a speech of welcome, and presented each soldier with a c;old medal, suitably inscribed. Mr R. Croy, on behalf of tbe Chortsey Eed Cross 'Society, also expressed pleasure' at ha-vinc the men back home again. Fs.irh of the soldiers responded, and all were liea.rtily cheered. The rest:of the evening was occupied withdancing, intorsrersod with songs. The. singers were: Misses T. Behrens and T 'Halliday, and Messrs "W. Halliday, R. Siimner, and W. Rankin. The music was played by Mr W. Rankin, assisted 'by some others. Mr H. Wilkinson acted as M.C.
