METHVEN.
The district Oddfellows held their annual dance in the Public Hall last 'Friday week, with a most successful result. On account of the war it is four years since the Lodge held a simiiar function. There was as large an attendance as the hail could comfortably accommodate and Mr A. E. Fitzgibuon made an efficient master of ceremonies. The general arrangements, decorations, etc., were well carried out under the honorary secretary, _,ir H. L. Mangin. During the early part of the evening little Miss Maggie McDonald entertained the gatheriug with some Highland step-uances, winch were much appreciated. Miss iiorslieldj of Highbanfc, acted as accompaniste.
