Tho final meeting of the Wakanui Red Cross took pi'aco on Wednesday I afternoon last, when owing to the inI dement weather tho attendance was i smaller than usual. : After tho ordinary business wa« concluded, Mrs J. R. Begg eulogised the 'efforts of the officers of the* Society; upon whom had fallen the brunt of the work during its existence. On behalf of the members she presented, tho president, Mrs Amos, and the secretary, Mrs Lewis, with beautiful autograph albums, containing the signatures of all the Red Cross members. A similar gift was to have; been presented to the treasurer, Miss Sinclair, but owingl to her ab'senco from" the meeting, tho gift will be forwarded^ lor> ISS .Butterick also spoke voicing the great, appreciation of members of the untiring energy of the officers, which had maxJe the Society 6uch a success.
