LONDON-, July 6. The trades journal ''Petroleum Times" publishes an assertion by "Major-General Mbncrieff," late 'director of fortifications and works, to the effect that there is sufficient oil in rich shale lands recently surveyed southwards of King's Lynn, in Norfolk, to keep England independent of foreign oil siipplies.
