LOND.ON, July 23.

An East African official report states: —The- enemy evacuated Mount Hakama on July 17. We pursued the main body and occupied a ridge northward of Narongombe, which we attacked on July 19. Severe fighting took place, the enemy stubbornly resisting and frequently counter-attack-ing. ' They sustained heavy losses, and our casualties were also considerable.

The enemy evacuated Kitope. We drove the rearguard to Madaba. ■

The enemy's retreat towards Nasinge continues. One of our columns is pursuing a small German column southward through Engaruka, westward of Lake Nation.
