BURGLARIES IN CHRISTCHURCH.

CHRISTCHURCH, July 24. Taking advantage-"of the' wet night*'' on Sunday, which practically cleared the streets of pedestrians, burglars made a raid on two shops in Linwood, ~ and stole small sunis of money, not - more than .CIO or £12.

A start was evidently made on the grocery stove of the. Misses Blunt, at the . corner of Cashel and Suffolk streets. The occupants were away from the dwelling, which is attached to the house,, and the burglars, who had evidently been on the watch, entered by a back, wiudow.
