RANGITATA ROAD BOARD
' A meeting of the Eangitata Eoad Board was held at Lismoro on Monday last Present —Messrs A. McKenzio (chairman), M. Charles, B. Withell and C. Jaino. . . Tho- clerk's reports and financial statements were road. Tenders were opened, and those lor Perrin's Itoad considered too high. Ihe shingling of a milo of Hackthorne Itoad was let to Sugrue. _ Robert Burnotb- was appointed . surfaceman for tho lower part of tho district, and it was decided to employ him repairing Hinds to Rangitata koad and round by Clement's Road to EalMr Withell was authorised to endea-com-t to arrange for tho hire ot a broad-wheeled engine for road-rolling. The Ashburton County Council torwarded a copy of a. resolution it hadadopted requiring road boards to maintain crossinirs for which pipes had been provided.—Consideration of this matter was deferred for a full board. Tho transfer of 431 acres at II an pi tn.ta from John Bough ton to James Cormack was authorised A quantity of correspondence relating to ratios, shingkvpits, _ etc., was dealt with, accounts amounting to £,W fis 9d wore .passed,, and the board adjjourned. .
