Sir, —In reading to-night's " Guardian " 1 was surprised to see that Mr Loadloy had mado such, a vehement attack on you With reference to the Belgian wheat, and think, with -you, that ho ought to bo "grateful" to-'the " Guardian " for clearing the. atmosphere. Personally, I am satisfied. with Mr Leadley's explanation, but think he did not use discretion in making the donation as he did, as the public could not possibly know it was the proceeds of Mr Leadley's wheat. I foci sorry that I should havecaused him pain over the matter, and in expressing my sorrow would also express the hope that the stigma of a dishonourable act may. never cast a shadow on the aureole that encircles his majestic head.
