THE METHVEN BRANCH.
A very - enjoyable afternoon was' spent on Thursday by tho 'Mcthven lied Gross- Society members. The Rev. Canon Burton, Mrs Boyle, and Mrs Lavie, from Christelmrch, were present, and gave very interesting and instructive addresses. The Chairman (Rev. G. K. Christehurch, and collected over £150 in throe months. The Rev. K. C. W. Powell "moved that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to tho visitors, and this was carried with enthusiasm. Donations have been given during the month by Mr C. Jelr, Messrs Henderson Bros., Mr Albert Dent, Mesdames Cranfield a.nd Buchan, Misses Marr, the- Methven School children, and Methven Convent School children. As the result of a concert held by Lyndhurst School children Mrs W. J. Dickie handed in £i 4s to tho i'uuds.
