GERMAN ANXIETY.
LONDON, October 18. The Paris correspondent of "The Tinies'.' reports that a. divisional order markod "strictly secret.," addresser! to Germnn officers, and signed- "Biti'urth," was found on an officer. The order stale:—"lt has been observed recently that the infantry is limited iii action to defensive iirmg in order not to provoke the enemy's reply, and that when i\\o Liter bombards, the infantry inunodiutoiy asks for artillery support.
manifesting great satisfacton when the attack ceases. Such conduct is emphatically condemned as tending to kill esprit do corps and convincing the enemy of his superiority. All efforts should be made with a view to taking an early offensive, which will be the more difficult the longer it is delayed. Commanders of brigades and regiments are- urged to keep, up their offensive activity to the highest pitch. 'Instead of acting under tho will of. the enemy, wo.must impose our will upon him, our troops utilising all their resources ancliugenuity to destroy the enemy."
