CAPTAIN SHOUT'S HEROISM.
SYDNEY, October 18. Captain ShouJ leaves a widow and a 10-year-old daughter.
Besides his bravery at Lena Pir.e plateau, he displayed great courage and self-sacrifice two days after the , landing at Gaba T.epe. A returned soldier relates that, although he had himself been wounded several times, Captain Shout kept picking up vsounded and carrying them out of the firingline. He saw Captain Shout carry fully a dozen away. Then another bullet struck him and his arm fell useless by his side, but he absolutely refused_. to go to the rear. A little later he was again, wounded and fell, but he said: "I'm going \o remain, boys, to the finish." ■, He rose, staggered, and fell several times. Finally his comrades, despite his protests, carried him to safety. -
