NEWSPAPER'S UNCALLED-FOR '• CHARGE. MELBOURNE, October. 15. Sergoant-Major Parker -was fined £5 for assaulting the sub-editor of tho newspaper ''Truth" by pouring a 4>ottk> of ink over him, because , the paper described him as belonging to the/, "/cold-feet' brigade." Parker is an athletic trainer at the .military camp, and; the father of six. children.' He, offered his senrices for the. front; but the Defence Department told him ho would dv better employed in the training of troops.
