The Premier, after attending the inaugural meeting of the Universal Service League, said that 'Australia should do-nothing at this juncture in regard to conscription that would embarrass the Imperial They could safely raly on the British Cabinet to do what was necessary to bring the war to a successful conclusion. It was not for Australia to say that conscription sras necessary, but if it were so, she should not hesitate to adopt it.
