ALLIES MAKE PROGRESS. FOOTING GAINED ON A CANAL. (Received Sept. 22, 2.30 p.m.) PARIS, Sept. 21. A communique'states:— We gained a footing on the right bank oi! the Aisne and Marne Canal, and repulsed counter-attacks. We made marked progress at Hartmannsweilerkopt. A French aeroplane bombed Amagne and Lucquy station, eastward of Rethel.
