A REPORT FROM: -EGYPT. j WELLINGTON, August 12. Mr J. L. Hay, V.M.C.A. representative, reports in encouraging terms on the work among the soldiers in Egypt. 'He,says that in Alexandria the autnori- ! ties place so much value on the work that they have provided a large public building* and handed it over to theV.M.C.A. in Cairo, and a large central I building, the old German Club, has j been secured, and is now in use as a soldiers' club, in order to counteract the evils of Eastern life. The Red Cross Society is also co-operating .with the association in its work, and has made a contribution of £500 towards tho heavy expenses incurred. Mr Hay appeals for New Zealand illustrated papers.
