j WELLINGTON, August 11. j Tho Prime Minister announced to--day that the Government had decided Jto enforce the provisions of the Garni ing and Lotteries Act relating to [raffles. Ho said that raffles which were factually in progress' at that time for ) patriotic purposes would' be allowed to j proceed to completion, the police- not prosecuting without instructions from the Attorney-General, but that the | Act ' would. be enforced for the future ! and permits would bo issued only in i accordance with tho Act.
