WELLINGTON,, August 11. There havo been inquiries from different quarters Avhether sandbags would be welcomed, for use at tho front. The Minister of Defence states that he is satisfied that; sandbags would bo a good thing to send, and he explains that they should bo of jute or of suitable canvas, and that the measurement of such bags should be 33in. by 14in.
