PARCELS FOR THE TROOPS.
IMPROVED ARRANGEMENTS
WELLINGTON, August 11
Tho Minister of Defence stated today that in order to improve the parcels service between New Zealand and Gallipoli he was arranging with the Postmastor-Genoral that parcels should in future go direct, to Europe. Their ditribution from Egypt would be arranged by tho New Zealand base at Alexandria. Colonel Esson, the officer commanding tho base at Alexandria, has provided the Defonoe Minister with a report on the postal arrangements there. • He states that the arrangements generally work welF and tho delays that occur sometimes in tho delivery of parcels have been due to the despatch of the bags from New Zealand yisi England to Egypt. This trouble will bo overcome by sending parcels direct to Egypt.
