OPERATIONS ROUND HOOGE.
NO MATERIAL CHANGE
Tho High Commissioner reports under date London, August 10, 9.15 p.m.:— , Sir John French reports that in the north-west of Hooge, and in the ruin.? of a village, we consolidated ground gained on Monday, repulsing weak infantry ■night attacks. On Monday afternoon there was no infantry fighting, but a violent artillery engagement rendered all trenches in open ground untenable by either side. We. withdrew slightly to a lino south of the village. There is no material difference'^in our position. We captured 150 Germans.
