The "Herald," urging the pressing need of more men and weapons 1, says that the example of New Zealand and Canada in raising subscriptions to present machine-guns tp their forces might well be followed.

The King's message in reply to the resolutions carried by the two Houses recording Australia's determination to carry the war to a victorious end, expresses warm appreciation of the generous support given and thr. sacrifices made by the Commonwealth, and the brilliant a.nd effective services which the Australian naval and military forces have rendered.
