ELEVEN STEAMERS

The Government has agroed to"'register 11 foreign-built steamers bought for Richard Wagner's American Trans-At-lantic Company. It is reported that they wore " purchased ill British, Scandinavian, and Mediteranean ports by Jansen, of .Copenhagen; H\igo Stines providing the money. The Department of Commerce is. satisfied that the steamers represent German capital, but Wagner's company is registered at Delaware, therefore the steamers are entitled to registry.

Tho bureau has notified Wagner that if the vessels attempt European trade they will probably find their why to the* Prize Court.

Wagner declares that if German money was used in the purchase it will bo repaid. Ho says that some of the steamers will bo engaged in the South American trade. !
