VALEDICTORY GATHERINGS.

STAVELEY
Presentations were- made to Messrs W. F. and C. Sutton and Mr Frank Goldsmith, at Staveley, on the 20th insb. There was a large gathering, and the proceedings took the form of a social and dance.
Mr Walter Comyns made the presentation and Mr CharJie Sutton suitably replied on behalf of himself and brothers. Mr Goldsmith also replied.
Each trooper was presented with a safety razor, suitably inscribed. During tho evening several songs were sung, the following contributing:— Messrs W. Comyns, G. t Owers, C. Dunstan, iinci J. Keig, also little Miss Clark. Mr Millen (of Springburn) addressed the gathering on the war and its relation to the colonies,
In addition to the three Sutton Brothers (who are in the 6th Reinforcements, they; have another brother (Ben), who left in the Main Force, and has been in tho firing liria since the commencement of hostilities in Turkey. Benjamin Sutton has. been gazetted as missing. Their mother (Mrs Sutton) resides in Ashburtqn..,. .
