RUGBY FOOTBALL.
ASHBURTON COUNTY UNION
The weekly meeting of the Ashburton County liugby Union was presided over by Mr W. F. Watters.
Tho Banks' and Professions' Club wrote applying for the use of the ground for the annual match with the Auctioneers. —Granted.
Mr I). Friedlander was appointed referee for the only match this week— a president's grade fixture between Old Boys and Southern Cross, on Thursday.
In the third grade competition Ash' burton wrote defaulting to High School
The following.will represent Southern Cross in the match against Old Boys on Thursday:—o. Stills, F. McKenzie, D. Hewson, E. Clark, W. Joyce, H. Harley, E. Fitzgerald, L. Craighead, C. Sullivan, C. Begg. W. Tilley, T. Body, J. Smith, D. Fitzgerald, P. Sullivan. Emergencies: F. Aldridge, R. Ede, and M. Campbell.
The following^ will represent the* Old Boys against Southern Cross on Thursday:—C. Bonnington, S. Culverhouse, C. Stills, D. McCallum, J. Cameron, S. McCallum, J. M. Wilkie, C. Cullen, R. Bremner, E. Beaumont, E. V. G. Day, J, Allen, It. Jones, H. Sarney, 6. Beatty. Emergencies: S. Christie, G. Miller, P. Mowat.
