A LIGHTING ATTACK.
LONDON, July 26. Tho '"Daily News" correspondent at Pas-do-Calais relates a crisp little action by the French south v of Arras. The trenches were so close that the throwing of hand-grenades was a popular pastime.
Life was growing irritating, so the French determined to end the situation by a lightning attack. They sprang out, took and destroyed three lines of trenches, and then returned to their quarters.
The incident was thought too small to mention in the official communiques. Many similar exploits .go- unrecorded. French and 'British airmen have made long unrecorded trips with successful results, which in a less tremendous war would have earned wide fame. The scenes of these triumphs include towns far east of the Rhine;
