ASHBURTON STOCK MARKET.
IASJiUUHJON: .YARDS—THIS DAY.
• There was a. vory fair attendance at the weekly stock sale held at the Ashburton Yards to-day, but the entry on the whole was much smaller than at the previous week's sale at the Tinwald Yards. '
The yarding of fat sheep totalled 380, :is against 179 last week. It included 17 fat ewes, 1.35 wethers, and 328 Jambs. Fat ewes made from 16s 8d to 20a 4d, and fat wethers from 19s 4d to 20s 4d. Owing to tl\e high prices ruling for skins and the pro-, spects of the works being able to take them, there was exceptionally keen demand for the five lines of lambs offered. The quality was really good, and prices were very firm, ranging from 21s 5d to 25s 9d. The whole of the entry was taken by the spine buyer,. The yarding of store sheep totaled 1318, as against 2415 last "week. '"" Iti included 413 hoggets, the balance being ewes in lamb.
