UPPER ASHBURTON ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Upper Ashburton Road Board was held yesterday, and was presided over by Mr 0. J. Harper.
In regard to the. gorse growing on the roadside at Tinwald by Mr J. Crawford's farm, it was resolved to inform him that the work of clearing must be completed by the end of September.
Mr Thomas Lloyd, of Lagmhor, wrote drawing attention to the fact that the road formed by the Board two years ago leading to his land had never been pxiblicly opened.—lt was resolved to notify Mr J. M. Hampton through whoso land the road runs thnt the Board intended to open it for the use of the public-
Mr It. P. T. Capon wrote drawing attention to the defective state of the road near his and Messrs 1). McKay's and J. Glasßoy's properties.—lt was resolved to reply that the work would be done as soon as finances permitted.
' Seven applications wero received for the position of Ranger to the Board, and Mr E-. Lowe was appointed. The.Bangers-report was read and adopted. ' '"'■
