STATEMENT BY EX-PREMIER. (lloecived June 1, 10.15 a.m.) BRISBANE, June 1. Mr Donha.ro, on leaving office, made a statement to t'lc Press. He said that one cause of the Liberal defeat was the attitude of the Public Service at not receiving increases owing to the war, and another was the- unfounded utterances regarding the responsibility of the Liberals for the high cost oi" living, lio added/that two member* had offered to resign in his favour, but be had decided for tho present to stand' out of Parliament. ■
