AUSTRALIAN WOUNDED IN ENGLAND.

ARRANGEMENTS FOE THEIR CAHE. LONDON, May 27. A largo meeting of "Australians was held at the Trocadero to devise moans of helping the Australian wounded coining to England. Sir George Reid moved a resolution expressing the meeting's ardent admiration of the exploits of the troops at the Dardanelles, and extending sorrowful sympathy to the relatives of those who had fallen in battle, and sympathy to the wounded. Sir George fieid also eulogised General Bridges's valuable services to the Commonwealth. Sir Edmund Barton, in supporting the motion, said that those originating the war must be brought to book. We could only do this by a complete conquest of the robber nation of "Schweiniand." The Germans could not have peace by treaty, for a nation which scorned treaties could not be trusted to keep one in future. The Australians should not tolerate any peace that would not prevent a repetition of a; pitiful war like the present in the lifetime of their eons and their sons' sons. The motion was carried. Several generous subscriptions were received to assist the war contingent's work amongst the wounded. Sir George Reid announced that a _ convalescent hospital was being established at Weymouth to which men would be sent after their restoration to health.
