MOUNT SOMERS

Presbyterian Church Bazaar.

A basaar. was held in the Mount Somers Hall yesterday m aid of the building fund of the Presbyterian Church. Mr G. Murdoch, of Mayfield, declared the function .open at '1.30 p.m., and business was commenced straight away. The attendance in the afternoon was only fair, but after tea tho people rolled up in good numbers, and brisk .business was done. The building fund will be considerably augmented as a resul t_ of the bazaar, as it is estimated that it will yield a profit of £65. Following is a list of the stallholders: — ■'„.," ;?

Plain Sewing—Mesdames Austin and Carleton. Apron Stall—Miss S. Murray. ■-Fancy Sewing—Mrs L. C. McLauchlan and Misses M. Hood and E, Green. Produce—Mesdames C. Beckley arid D. Patten, and Miss Patten.' Sweets Stall—Misses M. Sheldon, Ivy Hood, -and. Doris. Webster. ;.• Pot Plants—Miss Elsie Bryant. Christmas Tree —Miss J. Lockhard. Fish Pond —Misses Irene Lockhard and Mavis Robinson. Shooting Gallery— Messrs Sefton Hood and John Riley. Refreshment Stall—Mesdames J. Riley, J. Lockhard, J. Grieve, and R. Knox. Mr W. Turton, junior, had charge of the weight-guessing competition.

During the evening a number of interesting competitions,were got off.
