THE FILLING OF VACANCIES.
WELLINGTON, May 6
The term of office in: the Legislative Council of the Son. B. A. Loughnan expired to-day, and that of the Hon. J. Bigg and the Hon. J. E. Jenkinson expires on July 1 next. Questioned by a reporter to-day on the subject of filling several vacancies which have occurred on the Council since the beginning of the year, the Prime Minister said that no announcement would be made until ■ Parliament met. It was probable tnai appointments would be announced in the Governor's Speech.
