MEETINGS.
ASHBURTON CATHOLIC CLUB.
The usual weekly meeting of. the Ashburton Catholic' Club was held in the Boys' Schoolroom last evening, Mr D. McDonnell presiding over a fair attendance. The programme for the evening took the form x of a mock banquet, most of the members being called upon to either propose or respond to a toast, and the resjult appeared to be thoroughly enjoyed. Musical items were rendered by several members during the evening. ! Leaders were selected for a debate to take place at the next gathering of the club, and the meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair. ■
