The mounted men could,ride splendidly, but the horses were pretty cheap. Tne Manawatu Mounted Killes, however, were remarkably well mounted. ' The General also inspected the; camp, and cookrhoxises and expressed himseir as well pleased'with whac he saw there. The organisation was most admirable. . The r general training ivpi;k or the camp is steadily proceeding. With improved weather tlie men are taking an'interest in their, task and ho complaint is now heard. Regarding the disorderly occurrence of Sunday; night, the whole trouble seems to be due to the fact of extra, pay .being wanted for the extra days involved, in getting to and from the camp. The_ matter is being thoroughly inquired into. Tomorrow a big field day will -be held. A case of diphtheria occurred to-day in the Napier Battery and there are sevt eral minor casualties, but nothing serious. ■ . i
