Heavy'rain toll last night, making the going for the first- day .of the Hawke's Bay mooting heavy. The weather is now clearing, and the prospects are good for a fine day. This is a red-letter day in the history of the turf in this .district, the occasion being the opening of the Jockey Club's new buildings, including a grandstand, seating 1500,' ari officials' stand, a tea kiosk, and a totalisator house, erected' at a total cost of £2.5,000.
