MR JONES'S REPLY.
1 The reply received by the Prime Minister from Mr David. Jones is as follows:—"'Statement' false and libellous. Did not notice it till your wire came. Meeting was called to hear address by Mr Broadhead on Arbitration and strikes. At the close I was asked to say a few words about my southern visit. Sole reference .made to Ward was with reference to business of this session. Made absolutely no reference to past or < present political career. Although no reporters present, accuracy of the above has been vouched for by persons who were present."
