FEDERATION SEEKING A SETTLEMENT.

WITH SIR JOSHUA WILLIAMS AS

ARBITRATOR

WELLINGTON, November 27 2 p.m

■ In a r statement to a'" Post" ] re- ■ porter, representatives of the Executive of the Federation of Labour expressed their willingness to have the whole dispute submitted-at once to Sir Joshua Williams for arbitratement.

V.They desire this because they believe their cause just, and they- expect no more than Justice, which they knew they would get from Sir Joshua Williams. Whatever he decided, and on whatever point he gave his decision, the Federation would cheerfully abide by MTid regard as binding. ' This offer was a fair test of the sincerity of the* employers and their belief in their own cause.

If the employers.agreed to the proposal made, the Federation would order an immediate resumption of work by the waterside workers, and no doubt the other unions on strike would resume. The Federation absolutely denied having refused to refer the dispute to a Supreme Court Judge.
