WARDER

SENTENCE OF FIVE YEARS.

INVEROARGILL, November 25. At the Supreme Court to-day before Sir Joshua Williams, Johu L. Jones, alias Moreland, was sentenced to six months' hard labour on two charges of burglary, the terms to be concurrent. Thomas .Lynch, an old man, was convicted of wounding so ' as to cause actual bodily harm, and was fined £5 Albert Edward McQueen, the principal in the recent reformatory prison assault case, when a warder was severely knocked about, was sentenced to five years' hard labour, the sentence to commence at the expiration of his present term. His accomplice, W G E Wheeler, was sentenced to 12 months' with tke addition of 12 months for reformative treatment.
