CAPETOWN, November 25
The Chief Magistrate at Maritzburg in sentencing 50 municipal strikers, warned the Indians that they must protest against the head-tax constitutionally, otherwise" they would alienate all whites' sympathy.
Leading members 'of the Opposition at Johannesburg, while opposing unrejftricted Asiatic .immigration, urge the abolition jjf the tax.
The strike has* extended,to Zululand, and is affecting the sugar mills.
DELHI, November 25
The "Civil and Military Gazette" states that Lord Gladstone's despatches dispose of tHY charges of ill-treatment, but in view of the agitation in India, the paper supports a demand for an impartial inquiry. . -
