THE SHEARERS.
The fine weather permitted of shearing being commenced in AshburtOn County on Monday, and by the end of this week it should be in full swing. -Local shearers had understood .thin they were, to strike at the end of this month provided the difficulty had hot been settled by that time, biit now ' some who were approached : say that 'they do not intend to strike at a,ll!. i Last year about 40- Australian shearers' i operated in this County, but owing' :tb I the good times in the' Commonwealth, iand to the strike, only about six have arrived here so far, but. to date there are plenty of men to cope with the shearing. One or two farmers who. are serving as specials have delayed their shearing for a time.
