WELLINGTON, November 24. Simon Dryden, aged 89, living in retirement in Bidwill Street, died suddenly in a Wallace Street tramc'ar this afternoon. Heart failure is supposed to be the cause.

Frederick Jolly, aged. 35, who only arrived in Wellington on, Sunday, having come out from Home'in the Turakina last week, jumped out of;'a second floor bedroom window at the People's Palace early this morning. A room mate saw Jolly in the act of getting out of, the window, but was unable, to reach him in, time to stop his jump.
