The feature of to-day? s meeting was the hostility shown towards Mr Catts. It is alleged, that the men have become
suspicious of his motives, and charge him with acting on personal motives/ rather than in the interests of the men. .•''''' ' ■,'■■;.' ■. - . ! The daily produce and firewood sales are practically suspended. Though, large quantities are standing in the trucks and on transit, little is available. At some stations the held-up goods include truck-loads of decaying; vegetables and rabbits, which ar© making their /presence offensively evident.-: -; prices, so far are little affected. ■; There is.'some excitement on the wheat market. Millers, being imable to take delivery of grain, are prepared to give higher prices to keep the mills going tilly the trouble is over, but local supplies are not large, and holders are not! inclined, to sell. . Storekeepers in country towns are arranging to obtain supplies by steamers' and teams. : I Mr McGowen, owing to the strike, has i cancelled his proposed visit to Albury to-morrow.
