FEARS OF MASSACRE.
GREEKS AND JEWS MURDERED
FOREIGN WARSHIPS .ARRIVE

CONSTANTINOPLE, November 7
Defeated troops arc arriving in a desperate state, having been foodless for throe days.
There, was groat terror at Stamboul till the-arrival of the foreign warships. The authorities arc organising assist-
ance to prevent disturbances. Christian Ottomans are chiefly imperilled.
The happenings at Rodosto are unnerving Constantinople, whore the arrival of foreign warships has r increased Moslem exasperation. Numerous murders of Greeks and Jews .have occurred. Thirty-six Greeks unloading a steamer were killed.
The authorities are striving to repress disorders. Many European women and. children 1 are embarking on, steamers.
British residents are stocking, their houses to withstand a siege. Twenty warships of various Powers are hastening to the Bosphorus.
