THE WEATHER.

This morning dawned cloudy, and at first the prospects for a fine day were doubtful. By §.30 there was a decided improvement; the clouds opened up, and those that remained grew lighter and lost their threatening appearance. By 10 o'clock it was very warm, and though the sun was frequently concealed 1 it was fairly certain that the fine weather was going to continue throughout the day. The conditions have been gradually getting more st*ttled, and with the congenial warmth- the crops should ripen rapidly. The Meteorological Office forecast to-day is as follows:—Moderate northerly winds, backing to south-easterly moderate, to strong winds. Expect hazy, unsettled and cloudy _ weather. There are indications for 'misty rain. Glass fall 6lowly, but rise after sixteen hours. ■
