BOWLING.
The annual tournament under xho auspices of the New Zealand Bowling Association will be commenced m Dunedin on Wednesday morning. Sixtyfour teams will compete m the Rink < contest/ while 144 entries have bceji received for the Doubles and Sing'os The Ashburton Club will be represented by two rinks-—W. R. Lane, J. D. Stewart, J. Boothroyd, and D. Camp be 1! (skip), and T. M. Clark, A* Chrisl-'o, H. C. Craighead, and J. H. Maynard (skip). In the first round the la'- xor will meet F. P. Evans (Caversham) on the Dunedin Green, while D. Campbell will be pitted against T. R. Cresswc'l (Rahgiora) on the North-East Valley Green. The following Ashburton players have been entered for the Doubles competition: W. R. Lane and J. Boothroyd (skip), J. D. Stewart and D. Campbell (skip), R. Eastabrook and A. Christie (skip), T. M. Clark and H. C. Craighead (skip). J. H. Maynard will also play m this contest with a Christclnirch ' partner. T. M. Clark and H. C. Craighead have also; entered for the Singles competitiion.
