HORSE FAIR.
Messrs H. Matson and Co. conducted a successful horse fair m the Arcade yesterday. The entry numbered 56, and as there was a good attendance of buyers, bidding was brisk and prices satisfactory. The sales were:— Draughts.—Broken: Black gelding <6 years) £16 10s, Bay gelding (4 years) £40, bay gelding (6- years) £30, bay gelding (5 years) £28 10s, bay gelding (8 years) £20 10s, black mare, (aged) ■ £23, bay gelding (aged) £13, bay mare (7 years) £35 10s, bay gelding (aged) £26 10s; chesnut;-gelding .(3 years, broken :to ■ chains) £16, bay mare (6 years) £35 10s, bay gelding (5 years) £40, bay gelding (8 years) £15, unbroken bay filly (3 years)-£24. Hacks (broken).— Bay gelding (3 years) £11 15s, bay filly (3 years) £20, Jxav gelding (4 years) £14, bay mare <4"years) , £12. bay gelding (pony, 4 years) £5, bay gelding (4 years) £8, i>ay .mare (7 years) ■£5 los. bay gelding (5 years) £15.
