GREAT LOSS OF LIFE.
Per Press Association—-Copyright. N^W YORK, December 10. An explosion in the main mine at Cross Mountain, Knoxville, entombed probably a hundred miners. Throngs of women and children arc besieging the shaft-mouth. Three entombed men escaped by a lateral shaft. Rescue parties wore driven, out by the flames without seeing signs of the victims. Little is expected to be done till the fire is subdued.' '
