THE SHOPS BILL.
The Hoiise of Commons passed .the third reading of the Shops Bill, which ensures forty-five minutes for a, mid-day meal, thirty minutes for tea, and a half-holiday weekly, but owing to the exigencies of the session controversial clauses were dropped, including compulsory Sunday closing and restricting hours to sixty a week.
