THE ASHBURTON SEAT.
Very little interest appears to be taken by electors in Ashburton in re■gard to the second ballot, and it is safe to assume 1 that the. Spoiling will fall short of that recorded last Thursday by fully I,ooo.votes. Both Mr Kennedy and Mr Nosworthy are working hard, but in spite of this the interest that was imported into the first ballot by \vay_ of the licensing polls has waned considerably.
