THE AMATEUR DEFINITION
MELBOURNE, August 10. I The Amatexir Athletic Association ! has decided that the acceptance by footballers of payment for loss of time and incidental expenses causes, the forfeiture of their amateur status. AUCKLAND, August 10. The Otago and Wellington teams which are to take part in the New Zealand cross-country championships arrived in Auckland by the Main Trunk express this morning. Soon after arrival the southerners were shown over the course. Both the managers expressed satisfaction with the course.
